Sarah Rautert and Nadeem Khan at the Democracy and Migration Policy Forum

At the end of March, Sarah Rautert and Nadeem Elias Khan from CERES attended the two-day Democracy and Migration Policy Forum organized by the IGBCE (German Mining, Chemical and Energy Industrial Labor Union) & the QFC (Qualifizierungsförderwerk Chemie GmbH).

They took part as speakers in a workshop on the topic of "Fasting in different religions" and were able to contribute their expertise with regard to the concrete implementation of measures to take religious needs into account in companies. Among other things, they discussed how to deal with fasting employees and how to set up rooms for religious use in the workplace in the area of conflict between legal leeway and practical implementation.

The workshops were organized by the "One of us" project team as part of the "Our work. Our diversity. Initiative for Workplace Democracy Competence" initiative. The Democracy and Migration Policy Forum was funded by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and administered by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees.
